Gyan / Pindar: Response to Gyan's "Truth"

Dear All:

I am not certain if the members of this list have already covered the subject of Gyan's story "Truth" which appears on the ML site, but I just read it for the first time and - with all due respect to its author - find it specious at best.

First: arguments that rely on a private "truth" - one that is only available to a select few - are rarely valid when exposed to the light of impartial inquiry. Information that is only true for some but not true for all is not "truth", but a mutual understanding, and there is a major difference between the two.

Second: her piece appears as a 'not so veiled' attempt to diminish the validity of Dorie's testimonies (for lack of a better term), and this is disingenuous at best.

Lastly: her claim that "we all owe a great deal to the Master, Morningland, and the Gopis..." is ludicrous. According to one of the central ML teachings "we are all one", what she is essentially saying that we owe a great deal to ourselves. Huh? If ever I needed an example of double-speak - this is a doodle!

So what I really find that Gyan offers in her essay is an intriguing example of binding vacuous logic; something - in my humble opinion - never to be confused with "truth", which always sets us free.
