Healing - Was it Real?

by Dorie/Pathena

Personally, I believe in healing. I am of the opinion that any and all healing that took place during the time we were in ML, were real. I know there were healing story 'embellishments' as well - where we were encouraged to give all praise and credit to the Master for working the healing. I don't think anyone was 'lying'. We either truly believed or truly wanted to believe that healings were taking place due to Donato's ability as a healer. And I'm not saying it didn't. I'm saying that there is more to the picture of healing in general, and Morningland is not the only place on earth where healings take place.

Personally, I do believe that Donato WAS a healer. In other words, he could access energy and move it to help a person. I do, however, also believe that ultimately, it was the person's own energy healing themselves. The fact that they did it via contact with Donato either mentally or physically, only reinforced the movement of energy - the agreement, if you will - within their own energy to allow a healing process to occur.

During the time I was new to ML, my younger brother developed Hodgkins disease - cancer of the lymph nodes. I was about 21 at the time. I asked Donato to heal him and Donato told me he would be ok. I never gave it another thought - I told my parents that he would be healed - that he would be ok. He went through the removal of his enlarged lymph nodes and his spleen, and several months of traditional chemotherapy - and I never had a doubt in my mind that he would be healed. He was. He is still kicking around today - 40+ years old and has 3 kids - (infertility was an expected result of his treatment.) He's still a hell-raiser - sells All-State insurance in California - completely healed - obviously. He was only 18 at the time of his diagnosis.

So - was his healing a result of the medical intervention? Or was it a result of Donato working on him? Or was is a result of prayer? Or was it a result of his own energy connecting with a healing force that incorporated all of those things along with his own powerful Intent to heal? How can we judge this? How can we know? All I can say is - he had cancer and he doesn't now. At the time, I gave full credit to Donato. Now, as I look back on my naivete' of those years, I realize that there was probably more taking place, but not necessarily. As I've said before - I believe that the healings we experienced were real - I believe that we, as humans, are ALL healers - we just forget how. I believe that to be human IS to be a healer. Working with energy with an intent to heal, is part of our human, energetic, birthright. That's where I diverge from the ML teachings - I do not believe that there are only a few 'chosen' ones who have this ability. And since we were taught that in ML - I have to disagree with that teaching now.

Admittedly, healing testimonies were rather 'actively' sought and documented in ML. There were lots of positive 'strokes' given to those who wrote up their praises of the Master and their subsequent healings. We all viewed every single experience through the rose-colored glasses of spiritual desire. Unsuccessful attempts were just excused away as the person 'blocking' the healing - failures were not spoken of in any way - and by the same token, successes were flaunted around ad nauseum.

You have to remember who you were at the time of those experiences. I was between 20 and 25 years old. There was no way I had even had time to develop the life experience that would strengthen me to retain a bit of skepticism - to ask critical questions - to observe with clarity. I WANTED to believe all the miracles - and so, I did. I was not then, the person I am now, obviously. And thanks to years of growth and life experience, I am unlikely to suffer such a lack of discretion ever again. However, that gullibility is also a life pattern that has both gifted and cursed me many times... :)

I received and witnessed healings in Morningland. But my spiritual training also continued after ML - I did not spiritually die, as was threatened would happen. Nor were we taught how to access and utilize healing energy ourSELVES - without some kind of cosmic lifeline to Donato. How many people learned to become healers in ML? During the time I was there - only the Gopis. Later, probably a few others - but arguably, this should have been something offered as 'healing 101' - a natural ability and right of every person on the planet - you ARE a healer... do you know how? If not - why not?

This type of alternative system only serves to encourage slavery and bondage to someone who makes themselves a necessary link in your chain. The power is within each person to access for healing. That is my belief anyway. Anyone who chains you to the idea that you must go through them to be healed or to be a healer, is lying. THAT is a lie I can identify now, but couldn't then.
